Video Monitor Question
it's getting to be that time where I feel we need a video monitor so that I can do laundry (in the basement) without feeling PETRIFIED that Emma will fall out of her swing (even though she's strapped in)...etc...
can you recommend your video monitor? I know i've seen a lot about the Summer Day & Night monitor - is it good? is there a lot of interference? Is there a better one?
thanks in advance...

Re: Video Monitor Question
We have the Suimmer Day and Night. 2 years of use now and I still love it. It is not perfect but the pro's outweigh any cons immensely.

Re: Video Monitor Question
I have it also and the video feature cannot be beat. Otherwise it is a sh!tty monitor. It has crazy interference. I use the sound and lights monitor for Ronan and the video monitor for Declan-his room is further away. The sound n lights monitor never has static, the Summer is constant static. But I do love the video feature. I have the handheld

We have the same two monitors!
We just got the video one a couple of weeks ago when we started CIO with DS, it gave me some piece of mind to be able to see him.
They Summer monitor has horrible interference and the lowest sound setting is not low at all. I keep the sound off on it because it is so loud. We use the sound and lights one for sound and the video one for video.

Re: Video Monitor Question
we have a sony babycall monitor - should we KEEP that and use that for audio and the summer for video?
that's a decent thought - but then we're carrying two monitors - but it's not like we're leaving the country with them - just going into the basement to do laundry or into the kitchen to cook dinner..
hmmmm.....this is why i love this site!

Re: Video Monitor Question
We have the summer day and night too and the video feature is fantastic, but the audio is awful. Like PP said, its constant static. We use a separate monitor for audio.

Jess-you can even just carry the Summer because you can look at the lights to see if any noise is being made.

Re: Video Monitor Question
I also use the Sony Babycall for sound and the Summer for video. I don't have the handheld Summer, I have one that looks like a TV. I also don't have the video on all the time. I just hit the button to look in at DD when I hear something on the audio that I want to see; but she's 3 and until I took her out of her crib and put her in a toddler bed I only had the audio monitor so it doesn't bother me not to see her all the time -- I'm used to it.

Re: Video Monitor Question
I have the Summer Handheld and having been using it for two years with no problems at all. I swear by this thing. I got the blue one with the bigger screen (vs. the white one) from BBB

Re: Video Monitor Question
Jess- I absolutely love my video monitor. I don't know what I would have done without it these past few weeks. At night when Liam makes noises sometimes I watch him for a bit before he gets really fussy and I don't have to get up right away.
This is the one I have. I have the screen in our bedroom and the portable one in the living room which obviously can be taken wherever we are whether it be in the basement our outside or wherever. It's great!
Video Monitor
ETA: We don't have a static problem with ours.

Ditto. I have a little interference but not much. I did see a new one in BRU and had I not opened mine I would have exchanged it--there is a summer handheld with a zoom camera its $229--i believe it works the same way as the day & night just has a zoom you can control from the handheld.
