that is so sad.....I don't understand why that woman was laughing in the video of the EMT's working on the Walmart employee, and why the "cameraman" is trying to be a reporter saying "no one's giving him mouth to mouth, they're afraid to put their mouth on him"......I'm so disgusted people continued to shop after they were told to move to the front of the store. this is so senseless and sad

I agree! This is sick - what in the H E L L is wrong with people?!!!
I think it was a cop giving him CPR - and they have to use some sort of special device for mouth-to-mouth - at the end of the video you can see them getting it out and getting ready to do it.
 I just don't understand when we, as people, are going to wake the EFF up and start acting like HUMAN BEINGS again!!!!!!

Seriously...is this what Christmas is all about? Friggen animals fighting over things? These are grown adults too.
And that video of the man, I seriously cried when I saw that. That person should be ashamed for recording that.

Im pretty sure an emergency worker, (cop or EMT) cannot do mouth to mouth on someone without some sort of mouth to mouth device. I surely would not put my mouth on anyone unless I knew who they were and their state of health. However people CAN be covered by a Good Samaritan Law.
It is a really pitiful situation. What a tragedy.

ITA....there's something seriously disturbing when your first reaction to someone possibly dying right in front of you is to VIDEOTAPE, instead of doing what all of those shoppers SHOULD have been doing which is get the F OUT of the store!!!!! what service was he providing by videotaping? this blatant lack of compassion is so disgusting and honestly it must be more hurtful to this poor man's family to know that this is how people reacted, its like there's no remorse that these bargain hunters caused his death.

Yep, I think this is the case too because I remember Kenneth telling me that they have to use this special device - not only for health reasons but to make sure that it is done properly - the air flow and whatnot.
I saw what appears to be that type of device, toward the end of the tape, being taken out.

I'd like to know if that man speaking at the end of the tape is a qualified EMT. He seems to think he knows everything about mouth to mouth. And that woman agreeing with him... "um-humph".
It's very sad that this man died in this manner. I pray for his family.

SO sad....Theres so many reasons for this. The commercialism of our society, just wanting "stuff" at no cost and the sad affect this economy has on people to know their small amount of money needs to buy a lot and to want to get the deals at any cost. So so so so sad
And as far as the cpr...recent studies have shown that Chest compressoins WITHOUT Mouth to Mouth actually work better then together and they have recently debated teaching ( and some hospitals do now teach already) the chest compression only method...

EMT and emergency workers do not do mouth to mouth without protection. It's for their own protection. Rule #1 in CPR or emergency is to make sure YOU are safe.
I have my CPR and AED. I have a mouth piece with me. I will not do mouth to mouth to anyone without it.
And yes, you do chest compressions with mouth to mouth.
The whole thing is disturbing. How customers were allowed to keep shoping when someone was trampled on. The person filiming this with the comments.

8 seconds into the video, they guy taping it says "this could be for the family". He'll probably give or sell it to the family of the victim and use it to sue Wal-Mart. This is just my guess. But why else would someone video tape such a thing and not leave the scene? Disgusting.
ETS: I just watched the other video of ppl fighting over the Xbox!  Wal-mart needs a new procedue in place before more people get hurt or killed.
Again, disgusting behavior from ADULTS no less! Nice example you're showing your kids

There was also a stampede at walmart in either islandia or Massapequa a few years ago but luckily nobody died.

This is the saddest thing I've seen in a very long time, and honestly, I blame these companies with their bargain/deals that cause people to go like this.
There's one thing to blame people for wanting to save money...especially during a time like this, but why can't these retailers offer discounts on other days, cramming it into one day causing MASS HYSTERIA?!?!?
