It's so scary...
Make me question whether or not I did the right thing by letting DS get his MMR vaccine on schedule

It's interesting... but I still will get my children vaccinated at the recommended time because I just don't 100% believe there is a connection... JMO.

My nephew got the vaccines on schedule. He is autistic. My children got delayed vaccines and Emma and Jeremy don't have it. Lucas has yet to receive a vaccine. I do however think it is genetic since my BIL acted like my nephew does now when he was little.

ITA.
My DH is an EMT, god knows what he brings home with him on a daily basis, DS needs to be protected.

I think it's interesting, but I will still do the shots as recommended by my pedi. I don't believe that it has everything to do with the shots. Also, I can not worry too much about it. I refuse to consume myself with worry that this can happen or that DS can be austistic. If it's meant to be, it will be.

Re: Video on 4800 cases going to court - vaccines & autism...
I just don't believe it. There isn't a shred of scientific evidence showing a link, and the only reason why people are pointing the finger at vaccinations is because the first symptoms of autism correlate with the timing of some of the vaccinations - it's most likely coincidence.
But, *even* if there is an apparent link, it's moot - the ONLY vaccination that still contains thimersol, which is the debated ingredient, is the flu shot. Thimersol was removed from all childhood vaccinations in the late 90's.

Thirmersol is still in some vaccinations. If you go to the CDC's webste and search for vaccine ingredients it will show them.
I just got this off the CDC website:
"Today, with the exception of some Influenza (flu) vaccines, none of the vaccines used in the U.S. to protect preschool children against 12 infectious diseases contain thimerosal as a preservative."
Could you show me where on the CDC site you found that thimerisol is in any of the required vaccines? (Flu is not a required vaccine).

Re: Video on 4800 cases going to court - vaccines & autism...
I have read the research on this and honestly don't believe like the other ladies that have commented that vaccinations can cause autism. What worries me more is that many diseases are coming back because people are chosing not to vaccinate at all because of this so-called autism link.

No, in fact, the CDC website explicitly states: "Today, with the exception of some Influenza (flu) vaccines, none of the vaccines used in the U.S. to protect preschool children against 12 infectious diseases contain thimerosal as a preservative."
This is the link: CDC
And, on this page of the CDC you can see the thimerosol content for all childhood vaccinations:
Thimersol vaccinations
As you can see, most have none - the ones that have a small percentage aren't common.

Exactly & ITA! More and more autism is being pointed towards genetics and how autism is being diagnosed-the spectrum is soo large.

Re: Video on 4800 cases going to court - vaccines & autism...
I just had Sara vaccinated . MY ped said do not worry but if you want to spread it out I can. I said to him well you have twins what did you do and he said he vaccinated them on time. I trust him 100%. The ped said to me, look at Sara she is not autistic and you would see signs already if she was. The other ped in the office does have an autistic son and she stronly believes that it was NOT caused from shots.

Its in PDF form but if you use this link and click of the first thing it will show the results. It clearly shows thimerisol in several vaccines.
ETA: I found this link CDC that shows vaccine ingredients
Yes, there are a few vaccinations that contain Thimerosol, and if you look at the link from my post above, you'll see that. Namely, they are:
DTwP DT Tetanus Toxoid Influenza Meningococcal
Keep in mind, however, that none of these, except the Influenza vaccination, are regularly used in the United States. Take a look at this link from the CDC:
CDC National Immunization Program Recommended Childhood Immunization Schedule
The CDC recommends a schedule of vaccinations using only those that do not contain Thimerosol. More likely than not, pediatricians utilize the non-thimersol vaccinations, but if anyone is worried, it never hurts to inquire to double check.
BUT, also keep in mind, those vaccinations that DO have thimersol (but are rarely used), only have trace amounts - .01%. Your child probably has more exposure to mercury in one can of tuna.
More and more studies are showing that autism requires a certain genetic predisposition, which is very likely affected by the father's age:
Autism and age of father risk factor
With that genetic predisposition, certain environmental factors "trigger" the onset of Autism. No one can say exactly what it is - but, enough research has shown that it is NOT vaccinations, and the more we focus on something that just doesn't exist, the further we are from discovering the true source of the environmental trigger.

I have two neighbors who have autistic children and both the fathers were in their 40s when they had their children.

Re: Video on 4800 cases going to court - vaccines & autism...
Posted by greeneyes361708 A bunch of the Dtap and multi-dose vials that are regularly used have thimerisol in them. Tripedia, TriHIBit, Peditrix, Energerix-B (hepB), Twinrix (hepB/hepA). Those are regularly used, aren't they? And how many parents think that there is no thimerisol in the vaccines?
And FTR, I'm not only concerned about the thimerisol in vaccines, there are a lot of other ingredients in them that worry me.
You're right, only the ones marked with an asterisk are COMPLETELY thimerosol free, BUT, the ones marked with a "0", which includes only a few, don't contain it as an ingredient, but instead, as stated by the CDC: "*Where “thimerosal” is marked with an asterisk (*) it indicates that the product should be considered equivalent to thimerosal-free products. This vaccine may contain trace amounts (<3 mcg) of mercury left after post-production thimerosal removal, but these amounts have no biological effect. JAMA 1999;282(18) and JAMA 2000;283(16)"

Re: Video on 4800 cases going to court - vaccines & autism...
here we all go again....
heres my thing...again...
I understand there is probably no link..i understand the doctors say do not worry...I understand MS probably does not come from it also...BUT... they cannot guarantee***it has nothing to do with vaccinations...it can be a contributing factor or something so why not split them up or spread them out????>
if u really want to freak yourself out..there is a book called "How to raise your child in spite of your pediatrican" it is written by a doctor that is now opposed to 1.2 the things done and he lets u know that more then 1/2 are not neccessary-starting from the goop they put in the babies eyes as soon as they are born.

I saw a parent raise a good point on News 12 lastnight. He said if thimerosal was safe. Why was it removed?? Makes you wonder what the government is hiding....
