Virus and Fever/Sleep... HELP

Ok, DS has been sick since Saturday/early Sunday morning. He vomited in his crib about 1:30 am and got up with a VERY high fever. Went up to 104.3 sunday afternoon...

Now, his fever is gone. He has never had any other symptoms than the fever and the one vomiting episode. I took him to the Ped yesterday morning and there is nothing there, just a virus. He will NOT sleep all night since this started. He is generally a GREAT sleeper 8pm-8am, never waking/fussing in between. Last night he was up from 12:30-3 and has not slept through the night since last Thursday. Have any of your DCs experienced this with virus's and fevers? Did they go back to their normal schedules once they felt better? I'm a working mom and am in TEARS today with how tired I am. I can't deal with this. I feel like a TERRIBlE mommy for even feeling this way....

First you are not a bad mom, my ds is sick and the only thing I can think of us when it will be over

I actually have the opposite issue. He is usually a bad sleeper but once better sleeps good.
My ds has a virus now so I will see how this one goes

Thank you for replying. I'm just beside myself. I need sleep and so does he and my DH. You would think if they don't feel good they would WANT to sleep... But he won't sleep all night... This is what I get for bragging to friends on Saturday afternoon how good of a sleeper he is.........

Well, I know how you feel...my daughter gets sick every 2 weeks. Every time she gets sick, she is COMPLETELY off schedule and won't sleep through the night. Once she starts to feel better, it takes a little while to get back on schedule. By the time she sleeps 1 or 2 nights thru the night, she gets sick again...
