Vitamin D deficiency and infertility
Did anyone ever have the Vitamin D test? Did you find that you were deficient in D, D2, D3?
Someone my husband works with said that she went to a Dr. in NYC who found she was D3 deficient and after several failed IF treatments she started the vitamin D and concieved the following cycle. Coincidence? Maybe....According to some research that I found online it supports this theory.
Anyone hear of this or have it? How many IU do you take extra from your PN Vit.?

I know it affect the placenta so I'm wondering if it affects implantation. My D was low but they only found out after I was about 8 weeks. They put me on 4000 iu since it was pretty low.

I was just tested at my annual physical and my Vitamin D levels are fine. I think, however, over 25% of the population is deficient so it is a good thing to get checked.

You know, I never put 2 and 2 together, but I had 2 failed IUI's back in the fall. Then had a physical done at my primary Doc in Feb. and after doing bloodwork, he told me that my Vitamin D was very low. He put me on supplements and now Im 7 weeks pregnant after a successful IUI in March. The 2 might not be related at all, but it makes me wonder!

i believe they are related...even with men and their fertility. my husband has a vitamin D deficiency and the dr said that could effect things. he is on a supplement now

I just found out that I have a Vit D deficiency and my doctor just put me on 50,000 units a week. I read that Vit D deficiency effects the lining of the uterus, which effects implantation.

Vitamin D also contributes to egg quality. My RE won't start my IFV cycle until my vitamin D goes up significantly. He said it was one of the lowest vitamin d levels he has ever seen.

I just recently found out I was severely vitamin D deficient. My Dr. put me on 4,000/day extra and after doing some reading online, I found a lot of info regarding Vitamin D and fertility so I believe it is linked.
