W section of Wantagh/opinions
Well, we finally got an accepted offer on our house, expecting contracts on Monday.
We found a house we like today, looking for any background on the area and on the elementary schools. It's in the W section of Wantagh which is in the Levittown (MacArthur) schools. Any insight would be great! We heard from our father-in-law that there is a section around there that has high water bills, just wondering if anyone know where that is.

I grew up around there (woodside drive) was my grandma's house. i lived there on and off too... it's a GREAT area! DH and I found a foreclosure on the same block, but it got snatched up, unfortunately.
G'ma & G'pa are deceased now, so i can't ask them for sure, but i do remember them saying that their water bills were really high.
they had an IGS system that they hooked up through a well or something so i think that saved them a lot.
but, that doesn't mean that four blocks over had the same water company (whoever that is)
CERTAINLY ASK FOR THAT BILL AMOUNT FROM THE REALTOR!! get the name of the water company, and call them, give them address and ask for yearly water bill amount.

I live over there, actually right off woodside drive, might be that foreclosure the other poster is talking about! We just moved in like a month ago. Love love love the area! Water bill im not too sure about but I will ask DH. Any questions FM me, Ive heard the schools are really good, especially the elementary schools.

Is the elementary school East Broadway or Lee Road?

DH says it isn't very high... but he will look at the next bill..
Lee Road I believe is the Elementary school. but we just moved in so I will have to verify!

It's Lee Road. I went there for first and second grade.
the reason that people rave about this elementary school over the others is because it has much smaller class sizes than the others.

Many of my friends lived in the W section and they went to Gardiners Ave.

yup! there is some street in there that divides lee road from gardiners ave.
some of my friends went to gardiners while i went to lee road.

It depends- part of the section is Gardiners- Wishbone, Welcome, Wisteria- the blocks where the Levitts are. We looked at a few houses over there on Sand Hill and Weaving. My friend from HS lives in her parents house in that area and her son is at Gardiners. If you wanted to fm me the name of the street I might be able to find out. But your realtor should know.
Both are good schools and I like that area a lot.
