Wait, what's wrong with bringing dogs on vacation???
I keep hearing people say it's inappropriate to bring dogs on vacation... but dogs are welcomed in some places!
We brought our dog to San Francisco with us (from San Diego). We paid to have her on the flight and had to show her vaccination papers. We stayed in a dog-friendly hotel. We ate lunch at outdoor cafes that even offered to bring her food/water. We shopped in stores with bowls of water in front of them and "pets welcome" mats. We had so much fun!

I don't think they were saying it's inappropriate to bring a dog on vacation.
The main point is that it's inappropriate to bring dogs were they are not welcome...
We have taken Misty on many, many road trips. New Hope, PA is extremely dog friendly as well as Mystic, CT . And DH's family has a house in northern CT where we go at least a few times a summer. We don't, however, bring Misty into the bathrooms with us - she waits in the car and then we walk her in the dog area(most rest stops have one) to do her business.

Bar Harbor, Maine is also very dog friendly.
I don't see a problem with bringing a dog on vacation as long as the places they go allow dogs.

Your dog is very cute and San Fran looks gorgeous! I don't have a problem with dogs on a flight unless they are on mine. Like the dog that was on my last flight in the row directly in front of me. He was terrified and he howled and wailed for 6 hours. I really had trouble containing myself. The owners asked the flight attendant if they could take the dog out of the carrier and hold it!! I know you can't anticipate how your dog will behave on an airplane, but being so squished together will all sorts of people and germs on the flight plus the wailing dog made me want to stay off of planes for a long time. It's unfortunate that our society is moving towards humanizing animals, if I had known in advance that a dog would be flying in the row in front of me, I would have promptly demanded a seat change, an upgrade or a different flight.

Your dog is Darlin However If I were in a resort I am not sure If I would like that ..ok maybe I wouldn't care..only b/c yours is darling
What I get soo  about is the dogs that the girls carry around like Paris Hilton or some other celebs.. with sweaters and sh!t and the dog carriers! I am in Lord & Taylor today and some woman had her mini dog all decked out with glitz and bling . .blah blah blah..
There were no seats for me to sit soo crowded and the dog was taking up on of them dahhhhhhhh. Those pets belong home.. I don't care girls FLAME me for it b/c it really really pist me off and I had to leave the store I got soo mad and got no shoe to wear for the event I needed them for b/c my temper got the best of me.
