I know you shouldn't, but I've done it. In fact I did it last night (at 8PM).

I never wake a sleeping baby - if they are hungry they will wake up and look for it.

same exact thing here. I usually don't but she has not eaten since 8 this morning and has been asleep in her carseat from store to store and then home ever since.

Ok...Now how about if they last ate at 6pm and asleep thru their last bottle of the night.

Would you wake them up then? or just let your DC wake you up at 2 or 3 in the morning??

If the last bottle was at 6pm? I would let them sleep and pray they sleep through the night otherwise I would wake up when they needed to be fed! Chat Icon

same here, Gavin would likely sleep through the night, but how old is the baby?

And my son can afford to miss a bottle now and then! Chat Icon

Re: Waking baby up from sleep??

I've done it but only to suit my own needs, like if we have to go out or if I want to go to bed at a certain time, etc.

Thanks everyone for responding!

To answer a previous poster's question...
The baby is almost 5 months.

Wouldn't that be too long for the baby to go without eating? If he went from 6pm til the morning?

Or is that how long he should sleep without a bottle?

Sorry for all the questions....I am just curious what everone else does/did with a 5 month old (well almost 5 mos) feeding schedule and sleep??

That's not too long to go without eating. At DS's 4 month appointment, the pediatrician said at this age, babies are physically able to go up to 12 hours without eating during the night. Of course, DS still wakes up every 3 hours to eat and is nowhere close to STTN.
