yes, aside from the fact that there's no NY&Co.

I agree. And no food court either. And if you remember the mall way back when...well, let's just say it's come a LOOOONG way! Although McCrory's had a pet section.

Food court is in the works and they are bringing the movie theater back. I believe this will happen in 2009-10.

I've been going to that mall since I was a little girl. Remember Canadian's and Pant's Place?

We live right by the mall and got a letter in the mall stating that they are b\putting a full second floor to the mall and adding more to the outsie. I forget what the square footage was but it was massive.

too many expensive stores...they need more "normal" stores to balance it out

ITA!! It's nice to walk around, but I can't really shop there. Fortunately it's not really in my neck of the woods so I don't go there often anyway.

Re: Walt Whitman mall - thoughts?

We used to go there because of CPK but now they opened one in the Smithhaven Mall which is much closer

Re: Walt Whitman mall - thoughts?

Wow, I didn't realize that it was that HIGH end. I went there once or twice years ago, and don't recall thinking it was a high end mall. Must have changed?

And is there anywhere to eat (food court) or not? And they are doing renovations? DO you know what they plan to add?

So from the sound of it, you all seem to like it. I ask this b/c we will be moving away from Roosevelt Field when we move in the next 2 years or so, and I will miss it alot.

not a big fan of it---its okay. but i agree that the stores are a bit expensive in that mall. maybe i'm used to more 'budget' stores or something but sometimes i feel its less crowded cause ppl just can't afford to spend the $$ there.

Re: Walt Whitman mall - thoughts?

Until I moved to PA last month, that was the mall I alwasy went to.

I dont understand how its so expensive, besides the Sax and Bloomies. It has a good mix of the stores I shop at, but I agree a NY& Co would be nice. I worked in Pt Jeff so I would just stop at Smithhaven for my fix of that though.

Not really a fan of it. Too expensive I think. I used to go ALL the time.
Now, I'd rather take that 20 Mins and head East to Smithaven.
