Thank you - the rug is from pottery barn (and its on sale right now too!!)
The cabinets were light wood before - we totally gutted the kitchen and did one side in white cabinets and the other side in dark wood cabinets (its a galley style kitchen).

The cabinets look amaziing. Where are they from if you don't mind me asking? I never thought of doing 2 colors of cabinets like that but I LOVEEEE how it turned out!!!

beautiful!
okay this is going to sound really weird, but your kitchen looks almost EXACTLY like a kitchen Candice Olsen recently did on Divine Design. The backplash, range w/cobalt blue accenting, countertops, white cabinets and hardware w/mix of darker cabinets are JUST like the kitchen in that episode! I wish I could find a picture on hgtv.com, but i think it's a new episode.
ETA: is that the "glamour chest" from bombay company in your dining room? i have it too--i love it!
