Warm winter coat for school aged girls?
I usually get the Lands End Squall and it lasts her at least 2 years.
I think it's time for a new one this year and I was just on the Land's End website and the reviews for this year's squall are awful due to the fact that the colors run badly in the wash. Wonderful. It's not a cheap coat, you'd think they'd have this under control.
So now I don't know what to get her.
Looking for something very warm for those brutal days, but not so thick that she looks and feels like the Michelin man.
Any recs?

Abercrombie has cute coats. I also like North Face for the kids.

My kids started wearing their ski coats regularly.
They grow with kid, are waterproof, warm and excellent quality. I like Obermeyer as a brand.
While they aren’t cheap, we ski (so would get them anyway). They also go on sale before and after ski season.

For fall transition into winter we bought Abercrombie coats with fur inside for my boys $80 each, gap fleece lined for my dd $55. Their down winter coats I ordered from Ralph Lauren online $195 each for all three of my kids. Still waiting for them to arrive so I can see if they are worth the price.
I usually buy lands end but my kids complained they weren’t warm enough.

I buy Columbia Brand or Lands End for snow play, and they have been fine. Warm enough for my kids. For school, I send her in a regular coat (fleece lining type). They don't go outside when it's brutally cold. Plus, I'm not a fan of all the bulky coats hanging on the coat racks touching each other spreading lice or bed bugs at school LOL. I told her to stuff her coat into her backpack! Thank goodness for a locker this year ha!!
