I had so much fun and I made it a point to enjoy that day. I was so stressed the week before to get everything done and it was so worth it in the end.
ditto
We only had 2 small things go wrong at the wedding and I spoke to the maitre 'd about them later and he apologized profusely and gave us 2 bottles of wine.
The other thing that hap[pened that would make most brides unhappy was that it rained. I was disappointed that everything wasn't going to go perfectly as planned since we were supposed to get married outside but the weather is something that we have no control over so there was no sense in getting upset. We still got most of our pictures taken outside before the ceremony & during the reception in between rain drops.

Re: Was anyone else not a happy bride on their wedding day?
Well, for me, it certainly was a memorable day but it wasn't the glowing, sunshine and roses day I thought it would be.
I did not like how my hair flopped and looked in pics..it was very humid that day. I wish I put my veil on top of my head instead of pinned to the back..my makeup looked shiny (again the humidity)....my feet hurt at the end of the day and I had to take off my shoes and walk around in my ripped stockings...I specifically told my DJ no corny plastic saxophones etc and yes, he did pass those out ...I barely got to talk to anyone or have fun with my friends bc we were too busy "working the room"...
I don't know..it was a very nice day but not amazing.

Re: Was anyone else not a happy bride on their wedding day?
It really was the happiest day of my life. However, I can TOTALLY see how it wouldn't be the greatest day for many girls. I mean, look at all the drama weddings can cause with families and what not.

So did we. I was worried about our 2 families meshing at the wedding and it turned out so well. Everyone had such a great time and we did as well. No complaints at all of the day. I would do it over a million times. The planning, now that is another story.

Re: Was anyone else not a happy bride on their wedding day?
I have to say looking back, I wasn't really that happy. Maybe its becauseI knew it was wrong... I had fun, but was stressed, felt like my husband (ex) spent so much time with friends... I look at my video and dont even recognize the girl in the white dress.
If I EVER get married again, I am doing it my more my style my way, no traditional for me anymore.. BEACH PARTY!!!!!!

This is exactly me - just substitute florist for DJ!
I am so sorry that some brides feel they had a bad wedding day. As cheesy as it sounds , just remember at the end of the day you were married to the love of your life!

Re: Was anyone else not a happy bride on their wedding day?
Walking into the church and seeing my husband waiting for me, surrounded by all my friends and family meant more than anything to me and was truly the happiest moment in my life.
The rest of the day however I was argh, lets see my limo company suckked and I was an hour late to my wedding, holding back tears at home trying not mto mess up my make-up. Well that hour delay just made the rest of the day fly and I was really rushed for pics, which I am still not crazy about. People were walking in while we were right at the entrance taking pics, which was something I had not planned on. My Limo company really screwed up my whole day. But every minute I looked at my hubby I felt all warm and happy so the day was still special!

Me too.
I was unhappy about the weather. It rained. Hurricane Ivan follwed us from FL. But eh, it's a great story to tell.
We worked the room, cut the lines at the bar (it's good to be the bride and groom), hung out with friends and family, ate, drank, were merry and just overall had a blast. I had guests who were upset the night was over at the hall, so they brought the party back to the hotel. If we could do the whole day over we would.

Re: Was anyone else not a happy bride on their wedding day?
I didn't enjoy my wedding day at all. Two hours before the ceremony the zipper on my wedding dress went off track. It couldn't be fixed, so I had safety pins all up and down my back. Luckily my dress had a shawl and we were able to cover the zipper. I spent the whole evening worrying about the pins coming loose. Most of all I was so p i s s e d about how all the things that could have gone wrong it was my dress.

Re: Was anyone else not a happy bride on their wedding day?
I was horrible the days before since our honeymoon kept getting threatened by every hurricane possible and I didn't sleep at all in the "uncomfortable" room at my mom's. I definately had a melt down at the rehersal dinner when my DH didn't say a word about me during his speech, just how happy he was to see his family and that he was happy to become part of mine. I just didn't feel like my DH was doing all that he could to make me feel special on our day. He also was out drinking with my brother until 3 am so I was pretty much not speaking to him by the morning of the wedding. Looking back I got so upset because I had NO SLEEP for a week.
Once the ceremony started, it all melted away. I was so excited to marry my DH, I stopped caring about the little crap and ended up having a perfect day.

Re: Was anyone else not a happy bride on their wedding day?
awww, just reading your post gave me goosebumps I'm sorry your day didn't go as well as you hoped for, but you did say that you married a wonderful man, which lasts a whole lot longer than one day. I actually really enjoyed my wedding day with no stress because I so admament about having it small and simple, yet elegant, which was exactly what I did. I didn't have bridesmaids and groomsmen because I didn't want to deal with the stress. IMO, sometimes I think these big fancy weddings are overrated and out of control, but that's just me. People tend to forget that day is about the couple getting married not everyone else.

Re: Was anyone else not a happy bride on their wedding day?
I was so happy to finally be marrying my DH, I think I had happy goggles on. The day after I was really angry. My inlaws were horrible that day. FIL did not show up, BIL did not show up, MIL had picked a fight with me at the rehearsal dinner breaking up the whole party...
I think I felt so bad for DH that I just became oblivious and on auto pilot that day. What was weird, the end of the night, my uncle came up to me and asked if I wanted him to see about extending another hour, casually, I declined. I wanted to go to the intimate after party happening at the hotel.
DH and I also drank a lot more then we had planned...honestly, not to inlaw bash, but it was sort of like a new beginning for DH. we were starting a new family and he could leave that other nonsense behind.
