Was This Blizzard Lame or What?
I'm NOT complaining, but I was expecting to see a lot more snow when I woke up this morning. I know it's not over yet, and we did get a lot, but it's definitely not that bad. I'm not even seeing snow totals on the news...the reporters that are out in the snow are hilarious, it seems like they're totally exaggerating how bad it is. Again, I'm not complaining!

I am in Queens. We already have 10 inches of snow and it is still snowing. It frustrates me when the news says its a bust in NY when they really only are considering Manhattan. We have not had a plow come through in over 12 hours. I cannot drive and we still have no subway.

We got a lot of snow here in Suffolk. Winds are strong too. Its not the worst I ever seen but it is still a big snow storm.

Blizzard just means wind gusts, not snow total amounts. I'm in Suffolk and we got a decent amount. The travel ban hasn't been lifted yet & it's still snowing. Anything over a foot of snow is a lot IMO.

This is a substantial snow storm. But calling it historic was ridiculous. I've definiteky gotten more where snow was built up against my back door. It seems because of the wind there are so drifts that worked in my advantage. My car isn't even covered that much. Still annoying but the media needs to stop with their hysteria. Did we all forget about ALL the snow we got last year?

Not lame, just not destructive. We got about 20". Manhattan vs Nassau vs Suffolk...especially the north forth cannot be generalized

I absolutely agree that this storm was not the apocalypse people were saying. I just feel it is still very dangerous and just because there may not be as much snow it is still very dangerous.

Depends where you live. It's definitely not like the blizzard two years ago but I'm out in Suffolk, north shore, and we got a really good amount of snow. It's still coming down too. Due to the track of the storm, it seems like the city barely got anything though.

Media hype as always. calling it epic, historic, explosive etc is good for ratings. And bread and milk sales.

Was This Blizzard Lame or What?
I was following Craig Allen on Facebook and he issued a "forecast" really late on Facebook last night and was legit confused on what the storm was actually going to do.
Are any other mets concerned what the hell is going on right now? You must be! -I'm sitting here in Nassau County with 4-5" tops where the wind hasn't blown it away to bare ground. -Only light snow is falling. Heavy bands that try to progress west have been falling apart. -The western (back) edge of the snow can't get much past EWR. -Manhattan streets are just wet b/c light intensity so far. -HRRR and RAP no longer show any moderate to heavy snow bands getting farther west than boros. They both no longer show the Low backing in north/northwest; it is progged to move slowly north/northeast. -The schizophrenic pos nam has backed way down again with under 6" for western NJ. -Lightning over the ocean has not shown any inland move. It's staying way out there. IF, IF this trend holds, the only blizzard conditions will be over eastern suburbs. Nobody will come close to 2' in NYC except east towards the twin forks and definitely Block Island, Nantucket and Cape Cod. Edit- gfs and gem are way east with heaviest precip this run. smh I'm not downgrading my forecast yet!!! just venting frustration based on current obs and trends leading to pessimistic new data. Friends in the western suburbs have the most to lose.

We used to live in Queens and this would always frustrate me! Especially because I work in the city, my co-workers would never understand how much different our conditions were compared to the city

We were hit by Hurricane Sandy and had lost everything so I have to say I appreciate that this storm wasn't what was predicated and I rather them scare us so we are prepared than not have any warning at all.

I'm in eastern suffolk, we have tons of drifting but I'd say we have a solid 20inches so far It was epic for the reason that transportation was shut down, people listened and today hundreds of cars don't need to be towed off the highway before they can properly clear the roads. To me it's epic when a decent snow storm doesn't cause people to get stuck in their cars for hours.
