Was your 1st trimester screening covered by insurance?

My ob said it probably wasn't but when I went onto the aetna, it says that this Sono and blood test are deemed to be medically necessary

Of course it was, and it should be. Most insurance cover everything....from the moment of conception.

I have Anthem and I was told that this is considered a 'Specialist' appointment so I had to pay a $30 co-pay.

It should be. I chose not to have it, but I checked with my insurance company in case & it was covered.
