washing sofa covers?
Has anyone washed their sofa covers? We have a microfiber type couch that could use a good cleaning. Or should we get a co to come in & clean it?

Re: washing sofa covers?
I did! I have microfiber suede like couches. I wanted to bring them to the dry cleaner but was worried about the inside cushions being destroyed by my dog while they were out being cleaned. So I took one off to test it in the washing machine.
What I did was turn the cover inside out and put it on cold, gentle cycle. When it was done, I put it outside to dry. It was perfectly clean, did not fade or shrink, so I washed all of them. Just make sure to not overload the machine and wash them in batches.

Re: washing sofa covers?
The only advice I can offer is to make sure the zipper is secure. One of ours wasn't, and I guess in the washer it got caught on the material and ripped the entire cover .
