Water in toddler pool

Anyone have a backyard toddler pool? do you empty the water out each night? Ours is quite heavy and while the thought of dd using the same water the next day grosses me out its such a pain to empty it each night. The valve only releases small amounts of water - maybe if I left it overnight it would empty.

What do you do?

Re: Water in toddler pool

We have 2 small inflatable pools, but we let the water out every night in case she wets in it or if animals get into it & we don't want extra mosquitos around either

I would cover it with a tarp and put something around the tarp so nothing can get in there.

We empty it everynight. Not only because of animals but because of mosquitoes and eggs.

Re: Water in toddler pool

I posted the same question a while ago and based on the mosquito thing and the possibility of animals getting into it I decided to empty it each time.

Kelly (waterspout4) also had a very valid point that a neighborhood child if left unattended could stumble into it and drown. There are so many small kids running around here and a few really like our swing set so I could see them wandering into the yard and this is the main reason I empty it when we're done with it for the day. I also double check that all the gates are latched when the pool is filled.

I empty them .. I find at night bugs get attracted to the water. Plus my dd loves to put her toys in her mouth and the idea of her sucking on a toy that was in water thats been sitting there for a day grosses me out.

Ours is small enough I can empty it each time we use it.
