Waxing question

I want to get a bikini wax, but Ive never been before and I was wondering, do you have to let the hair grow a certain length before you go? And how long does it last?

Re: Waxing question

when i got mine done, i would go about every 3 weeks. the hari should be long enough to wear the wax grabs it, but not too long as it hurts like a b!tch when they wax it. about a quarter inch growth, maybe less.

It all depends on how fast your hair grows. I get a brazilian bikini which is just about everything except for a little strip and I go about every other month..sometimes 2 months...because my hair doesn't grow that fast everywhere...and when I go I like to have enough for her to pull so it comes out cleaner..instead of her having to sit there with tweezers to get the little hairs that have not grown in fully.

I've been doing this for about 4 years now..and my lady always has me turn over...well this time..it was a bit of a challenge..with my belly. Pretty funny sight seeing me on all fours..but boy did it feel good to have it taken off!! I find that the back doesn't hurt as much as the front!! It all depends on whether you have a high tolerance for pain or not. To me it's worth it...I'll NEVER go back to shaving!!!

So glamorous!! Chat Icon

For whatever reason, waxing hurts me twice as much when pregnant as it normally does.

I couldn't handle it at all. Chat Icon

I go to European Nails in Manhattan on 82nd & 3rd Avenue. Lucy is the lady's name and she is formerly of Lucy & Irene's. They closed and she stayed open with her own business. I have to say..she's very well known..and for what I pay to get it done..in Manhattan, I wouldn't go anywhere else. Plus I'm really comfortable with her. Chat Icon
