Re: We all missed the boat. This is the best wedding procession ever.
I think it was fun, and not horrifying. Obviosuly, the church was fine with it. I have seen brides who would shudder at this allow their bridesmaids and themselves to walk down the aisle with enough cleavage and skin showing to make a member of the clergy blush. Everyone draws the line in a different place; I say good for her!

Re: We all missed the boat. This is the best wedding procession ever.
It probably did reflect the bride and groom's personalities, but I thought it was pretty corny. I would like to think that guests can feel the love in the room at any wedding without cheesy sunglasses, dance moves, disco songs etc.
I would venture to say that none of us had a wedding entrance like that, but if you looked back at video or just remember your wedding entrance, would you say there was a lack of a feeling of love in the room where you wed? My entrance was so plain. Just an organist. My brother walked me down the aisle. A few guests. But the love in the air was palpable.
I also FF through most of it and then shut it off after catching a quick glimpse of the bride. Different yes, but yet somehow boring.

Re: We all missed the boat. This is the best wedding procession ever.
7 pages of this thread and I can't believe nobody mentioned this:
Its one thing to call it tacky, non tacky, etc.
But they came down, in church, dancing to a song sung by an artist that literally beat the living s**t out of his girlfriend, AND pled guilty to it!!!!
Real appropriate for a wedding. I sure hope their wedding doesn't follow in Chris Brown's footsteps. Absolutely horrible. Pick a different song.
Yeah I guess you can say that maybe they had this planned prior, but it sounds like this reception just happened.

Re: We all missed the boat. This is the best wedding procession ever.
omg the comments in this thread are ridiculous.
they had fun... they enjoyed themselves. if that is how they chose to express themselves, good for them. I could see the joy and that is what is important... I would have rather watched them dance down the aisle, than any of your boring processionals with here comes the bride or canon d.... DH and I actually wanted to come down the aisle via slip n slide but being Catholic, it was a BIG no no.
and for people saying it's disrespectful... what about baptist churches? people get down in them all the time... what's the difference? Church is a place of worship, but also a place of celebration, no?

I totally thought that as well.
But like a previous poster mentioned, the bride walked alone and maybe this was her way to get through that. Who knows, I wasn't there.
To each their own and as long as their marriage is a happy one, who are we to judge?

canon d....
Many many years ago, this song used to be used for, of all things, mausoleum commercials. That's all I can think about when I hear it. Cemeteries and planning for my death.

Re: We all missed the boat. This is the best wedding procession ever.
I had tears in my eyes watching this.... Planning my wedding was stressful, and I had to choose people in my party that I knew couldn't care 2 sh*ts about me, and it was less fun because of it. To think that everyone said screw tradition, lets do something fun because we love each other made me happy and sad at the same time. LOVED it!

I thought of that once I realized he was the one who sang the song. But ultimately I thought it was cute and fun, as long as you don't read too much into it.

I caught that right away. I gave the couple the benefit of the doubt and assumed they got married prior to the assault and just got around to posting the video recently.
