We Booked Disney!!!!! Need Restaurant Advice
Yay!!!!!!!!!! I feel like a kid again...so excited!
Now on to some details...and I need to ask for some suggestions:
Food We have a reservation for a character breakfast and will probably make another but for lunch - do all the parks have food courts?
After some very helpful FMs we are going to plan dinners at restaurants and I'll make the reservations this week.
Any advice or suggestions? It'll be mid-September.

Re: We Booked Disney!!!!!
All the parks have quick service restaurants.
It's increasingly difficult to impossible to just walk up to restaurants these days.
Without ADRs, your best bet would be to check places that don't require reservations - ESPN and Big River Grill at the Boardwalk, Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club, Portabellos and Rainforest Cafe at Downtown Disney plus the fast food places.
You can always call or go to guest services while you are there to see what's available.
Have a great time!!!!!!

Re: We Booked Disney!!!!! Need Restaurant Advice
Have a great time, so jealous! We were supposed to go in Feb and then I got pregnant. So we will wait until after the peanut arrives.
As for restaurants I would recommend Portobellos (Downtown Disney), Spoodles (Boardwalk), Ohanas (Polynesian), and Tutto Italia (Epcot - Italy).
Each park has places to eat during the day - fast food or restaurants you don't need reservations at that are pretty good. At Hollywood Studios we loved the Prime Time Cafe.
I would recommend reservations. When we were there in April we were severly limited because we didn't make many advanced reservations.

Re: We Booked Disney!!!!! Need Restaurant Advice
I just wanted to come back- I noticed you will be there mid-Sept. They offered a free dining promotion for travel during that time and the restaurants will be packed. The parks will be a pleasure but you'll be hard pressed to find something that requires ADRs the day of. If you think you might want to try some place, you can try to get ADRs now and always cancel them later on if you change your mind.
Last year, at the same time, I called in the morning to find out what was available that evening and my choices were the Biergarten in Germany and some place else I wasn't interested - both times were on the later side too.

Thanks Christine! I decided to take the advice and book some dinners...we can do lunch on the go but I got a great schedule of the light/firework shows so I am going to plan dinners around that.
Of course I called to make my reservations and the system is down for another hour

Re: We Booked Disney!!!!! Need Restaurant Advice
Here is where we ate and my review...
I also bumped a thread that was on parenting BECAUSE it was geared for PARENTS bringing their children- but go figure it was moved...(yea- Ill admit IM bitter-lol) It has a lot of good advice/tips.
FM if you have any questions, I researched every detail and we had an AWESOME trip!
Chef Mickey (dinner)- Classic, the food is just OK- but the atmosphere is so much fun.
Crystal Palace- Winne the Pooh and friends- everything is real yummy, and - well... these are my favorite character so I dont have one complaintChat Icon
Tuscar House in Animal Kingdom (Breakfast)- Yum! Yum! Yum! This was probably the best buffet we had the entire week.... The Characters are great as well (safari Mickey and friends)
1900 Park Fair in Grand Floridian (dinner)- This was a Cinderella and friends dinner and overall I couldn't wait to get the h e ll outta there- the step sisters were obnoxious the step mother was trying to scare the children- DS was not amused! The food stunk- I wouldn't rec'd
Ohana Breakfast @ Polynesian- This was highly rec'd by so many and to be honest Im not sure why- to me it was no different than any other character dining. It wasnt bad at all- but from the reviews I read here I expected so much more. This is not a buffet- basically you dine family style with eggs, bacon, sausage, and waffles- maybe my waitress just stunk- but they brought out a small amount of food- and it took forever to get more (it was all you can eat) I would go back, because the food was good and the atmosphere was cute- but to me its nothing to write home about...
Play and Dine @ MGM (breakfast)- This was DS favorite- Little Einsteins, Jojo circus and goliath. It was a bit noisey here- but totally worth it.
