we just found out what happened to Robby...
My OB asked that i follow up with a perinatologist before we get pregnant again or begin IVF again. So of course i went. They did a MILLION blood tests and jsut called us in to go over them.
I did have GD at the end of my pregnancy but Robby was small and not effected by it from what they beleived. But of course the bw showed the diabetes stayed with me and i still have it, along with a missing antibody for thrombophelia. ( blood clotting disorder) they said it is genetic and most likely the cause of all this but tehy cannot tell me definately. I have to continue my prenatals, take 3 extra folic acid pills a day and a baby aspirin. Also i have to go on a strict diabetic diet and be retested in one month. Once a month of all this we can try to get pregnant again. Once they have a positive fetal heartbeat i have to begin injections daily until 36 weeks. then twice daily and they will induce me..possibly earlier..they will determine that when the time comes.
The fact that i have to do all this means nothing to me. I had to do all the injections anyway with IVF. The thing that kills me is that if i knew i had this before we conceived Robby i could've prevented this horror and i would be holding him right now. It si so upsetting.

I'm so sorry for what you have been through! sending you prayers for your next pregnancy, at least now they can take steps to ensure this doesn't happen again.

I am sorry again for your loss, I too have a clotting disorder (MTHFR) and am on lovenox injections while pregnant

I'm so sorry...but at least you now know what happened and can prevent it from happening again.
We are in kind of the same boat and I will do whatever I have to do to keep this baby, no matter how difficult it may seem you will do what is necessary the next time around.
