My friends DH was working there also - in the Melville office. ihaven't gotten an update from her, but they have 3 kids - twins and a newborn and she doesn't work!
She is freaking out too - you are definitely not alone!
Like I told her though, everything happens for a reason!

I am so sorry. It is so stressful. Massive layoffs are just awful. It makes you wonder what the "big guys upstairs" probably knew for a while.
WE got our original mortgage for this house from that company. The people that handled it were excellent. We received word last year that the main rep who handles our account left, wonder if he knew something .
Funny, because, right after we closed, that same month our mortage was sold to another company Makes me wonder now.
I really hope your DH, and all of his co-workers, find something soon.

I just wanted to take a minute to Thank everyone for your well wishes for DH and I have the same for anyone else who worked for that company as well.....
as well as listening to my updates and vents about this whole process...its been a rough few days...I'm just glad its finally over.
DH left the office a little over an hour ago...while he stayed to "help out" (b/c the boss asked him to;) he found out that a few bosses and co workers went to Fridays drinking....so he just logged out and left, he was so mad!
Hopefully when we get back home to NC he will be able to find something fast and for even better salary!
