we made our first 2 boo boos this weekend

my little darling.

ETA: the first disaster was me leaving over 10 oz of pumped breast milk in the cold storage compartment of my pump for 12 hours. open. without the ice pack. I had to dump all that liquid gold. I could have CRIED. actually, I DID cry!

dh was clipping his nails and got a little skin on this thumb.

then, his bottle was accidentally mixed with Lactaid instead of breast milk this morning.

it was really my faulty b/c I have been using one of the Medela bottles to take some to work with me for coffee/tea and there was some left over from Friday.

it was placed by my MIL away from all the other bottles of breast milk in formula on the other side of the fridg. I am usually the one who makes his bottles and I knew what it was so I didn't really think anything of it.

of course this morning dh gets up before me and makes his bottle, using the bottle of Lactaid (he had NO idea).

thankfully I had just decided to breast feed so he only used the bottle to supplement (Luce had maybe an ounce of the Lactaid) and he seems fine.

I know it's milk...not poison, but I just hope it doesn't hurt his belly too much.

today mommy brought in her Lactaid in an old spice jar. it may be slightly scented with clove...but I know I won't inadvertantly feed it to my son.

Oh my gosh, scary I am sure he'll be fine! And the nail clipping thing, totally common, I think everyone's done it Babies heal fast

Awww, we did the nail clipping thing, and his finger bled forever it seemed--we felt terrible. As the PP said, I think most people do it at some point. After that we filed his nails for awhile, and that worked just fine.

Don't feel bad--it does happen. And the lactaid shouldn't do any harm--I know it's not what you want to give him, but as you said, at least it was nothing harmful.

The first time I clipped DS nails- he jumped and I got some of his skin. I cried for hours. I felt so bad. He didnt even cry.

aww, these things happen to all of us. I was clipping DS's nails when he was around 6 weeks old and it bled and bled, I was so upset. But he was fine and doesn't remember at all!

I was like "ew, deodorant?"

Then I realized what you meant!
