same with my office, I work for a Jerk! I know I should be happy to have a job, but he should also be happy to have employees still working for him. he NEVER calls us to tell us if he's open or closed, or what's going on. its so frustrating! last storm he woke up and saw it was bad so he went back to bed. mean while I had my entire office calling me and texting me to find out if we were open. I would have liked to go back to bed 
I mentioned to him that we need to be called by 730 am so I know to get on the road or not. he acted all fine with it.
Apparently he wasn't. when I went out today, he was b!tching to other employees I'm trying to get a snow day needless to say I have about 12 hours of work I plan on bringing home and doing all day tomorrow which I am the only employee who can actually do work from home!! And he has the nerve to complain about me... I'm thinking I should re-consider that work from home
sorry vent over!!

We likely won't know until tomorrow morning...but I'm planning on not being in. We are a satellite office of the NYC corporate office, so our totals will be different, but the company boss is very cool, and wouldn't endanger us unnecessarily.
DH on the other hand...works as maintenance/custodial for a big school district mid-suffolk.....He'll likely still have to go in mid-blizzard to shovel out the school 
I will stay home, clean, cook, bake and worry about DH.

I was supposed to fly out tomorrow morning for a conference for work. My boss just had me spend the last few hours changing our flights, etc to Thursday and told us not to bother to come in tomorrow.

Yep!! I am shocked that we are already closed but thankful I don't have to think about it. I had even brought work home in case it was too much to travel but didn't want to use time!!

My boss and I were talking about this last snowstorm.
In this day and age if you can work from home they shoudl let you.
And not just for the safety of the employees but we were saying how it actually benefits ths COMPANY.
Think about it- if they make people come in, 1/2 won't make it or call out.
The other 1/2 will be late due to having to shovel out and travel on bad roads- it will take forever to get in.
So everyone starts work late - if at all.
If they just let you work from home, you can get started right on time and work straight through until quitting time.
100% more productive.

I work from home, so no snow days for me.
But I am certain that DS's daycare will be closed which stinks because I actually have work to get done. Hopefully DH can work from home too if daycare closes.

My office sent around an email that we're open, but I told my boss if my day care closes I won't be in.
Day care is still open at this point... *fingers crossed*

Our boss told us to proceed as though it were a snow day... he said unless we wake up and can see the pavement on the road to not come in!

That's just wrong that the AA has to try and make it in. Too bad they couldn't somehow prepare work to take home also.

well we just got an official email that since it's impossible to predict how much snow there will be, we'll be open for business as usual... i'm still going to work from home, but yeah, all admin staff is expected to at least try to get in. for what purpose, who knows.

I work for a Private Day Care and we are closed.....it's actually for a state school so we only close if the campus closes, but luckily for our sakes that's been done already...whoo hoo.....Thank you Snow  For those of you whom do have to get to work, please be careful

yeah this is the only bad part.
I can work from home whenever i want, but it's hard to get a THING done with the baby home.
And DH is a cop so he HAS to go in.

I never really get a snow day though, I will have to work from home, which is annoying b/c people who can't work form home don't have to work at all.

My office just sent an email they are closed tomorrow. I work in a ambulatory center for a majot LI hospital and the are pretty good about closing in bad weather.
Only bad thig for me....I only work perdiem and I was scheduled to work tomorrow, so insteaed now I will go in thurs.
