Weaning herself off of formula? (UPDATE in 1st PosT)

DD has no interest in her bottle. This has been going on for a few weeks now. She has been barely taking in 3 bottles of 4 ozs as it is.

I tried giving her formula in a cup, and she just doesn't want it. She wants water/juice/milk.

I know some of you are against going off formula prior to 1 year, but she will be 10 mths next week. Should I just give up on the bottle and keep giving her milk? She will drink milk in a bottle not formula..weird huh?

I feel like when I make her 4 oz, most of the time I am throwing away 1-2 oz.

UPDATE: I gave her her afternoon bottle 2 oz milk 2 oz formula and she actually drank all of it...no problem!!!! We can be on to something. This is the first time in a while she finished a bottle.

Only whole. I would do that this way she is still getting some of the nutrients of the formula too.

I would be worried about stopping formula now. I think formula has a lot of nutrients that she needs right now.

Mixing it sounds like a great suggestion.

thats what i was worried about...but then again she isn't getting any if she isn't drinking it right?

she eats her oatmeal everymorning and its the one with the dha/ara just like formula plus she gets vitamins and she is on table food for lunch/dinner. so i mean she is getting something.

but im definitely going to try mixing it for the next few months/weeks if that will work

Re: Weaning herself off of formula? (UPDATE in 1st PosT)

I just wanted to tell you that at 10 months, my ped. told me that I could stop giving Ava formula because she was thriving so well on table food. He said that at that point, if they are on all table food, then there's no need for the formula anymore, and a vitamin would supplement for the lack of nutrients. So, I say if she doesn't want the formula and she eats well and takes a vitamin, I would totally switch to milk.
