Weekend trip with kids
Any suggestions for a weekend trip in March that is within driving distance from LI? Our twins are turning 5 and we would rather take them somewhere than do a party with two classes of pre-school kids. We also have a 7-year old.
I'm blanking on places because it will still be cold.

Great Wolf is great for a birthday party trip. We did that for my niece's birthday last year and we decorated the room, brought a cake, and they also have a birthday party package where they will decorate your door. There is quite a bit to do there.

Re: Weekend trip with kids
I also love Great Wolf and have been there three times.
We went to Coco key on a groupon and I would not go back. It did not feel as clean as GW, they don't limit it to only hotel guests and they were completely understaffed. It also was annoying that parts were closed and the baby pool area was not enforced at all. They had teenage kids trampling the babies at coco key. The life guards did nothing. I brought it up to the mgmt as a child was injured in front of me and they shrugged saying they were paying guests. I felt that it was bad mgmt. decisions and would not go there again.
eta there is also Saharah Sam's but I have not been there so I can't comment on it.
I have heard wonderful things about Woodlock Pines as well.

Thank you so much for the recommendations. I have heard great things about Great Wolf too. I will check it out.
We went to the Please Touch museum in the summer. It was awesome!
