weird question about potty training boys
do you teach them intially to stand while peeing or sit. I though sit cause thats why they have a guard but then again im not so sure.

Re: weird question about potty training boys
I started Nicholas with sitting first to pee. He sometimes didn't know the difference in feeling between having to "pee" or "poop" so it would be a surprise to the both of us. I figured that by sitting, we had all our bases covered. Once he was more advanced, he wanted to "pee like Daddy" and urinated while standing. (He was about 3.5 when he did it that way).

We did the same thing for the same reason. Even now, he doesn't always want to stand. Sometimes urinals are fun and interesting, other times not so much. At home he usually sits. I'm not too worried about it. He's potty trained, so whether he sits or stands is up to him. He'll eventually realize it's faster and easier to stand.

Re: weird question about potty training boys
My son is now fully potty trained and he still sits! We've tried to see if he can do it standing, but he doesn't even reach to pee in the toilet. We need to get him a small step, but in the mean time, he still sits!

Re: weird question about potty training boys
standing boys here too
it's a big game for them, they go together all the time but it kinda reminds me of how me and my sister would go together too we'd share the toilet seat (sitting of course )
They both learned standing up, it just winded up happening that way, we didnt push it either way, whatever worked, we cheered and hoorayed
not a weird question at all, I wondered the same thing myself when it was my time.
