Weird question....DS is kinda walking but...

when he falls (which is often) he doesnt know how to catch himself. Needless to say, we have to either hold his hands or walk right behind him to catch him, but its killing our backs. DS loves to walk and is not happy unless he is walking.

So my question is....when do they learn to catch themself when they fall. Like, when they fall backwards and then end up in a sitting position or when they fall fowards and have the reflex where they use their hands to stop the fall so they dont knock themselves out.

I think falling without you there to catch him is the only way he can learn to support himself when he falls.
