well, alright, u asked....and our potentially final name for new baby is...
we have been between names, me loving them, greg not, greg loving them, and me not....
we like hayden for a girl, but like i had said, i dont even think i like SAYING hannah and hayden- its just odd i guess...even though i do love the name and could potentially change my mind........
there is one name greg and i have always loved....lucy- but could never think of a FULL name for it.....but last nite we kinda decided that we both love the name lucia (pronounce loo-sha)...and i said, lets go with it.... and he said yes, i love it......
so thats it... and now we are just needing a middle name to make it all go together....i am bringing the baby name book to work....

Very nice choice. I really like Hayden too, I think the Hannah/Hayden sound nice together.
Lucia is really pretty.
I think the only downside is many people will think its Lou-c-a.

Lucy is a nice name all on it's own. It doesn't have to be short for anything.
All great choices!

I love both names. As for not liking Hayden with Hannah, I can tell you as soon as it's your child's name, you get used to it. I couldn't stand Joseph's name in the beginning - so much that my close friends called him Jack to me when DH wasn't around.
Eventually it grows on you because it becomes to represent someone you love so much.
I love Lucy. I think it's an adorable name. If I didn't know better, I would pronounce it Lou-See-Ah (in my mind I would think Lou-Chee-Ah because of years of Italian).
Just correct people. Madeline - is actually pronounced Mad-ah-lyn versus Mad-Ah-Line. It's my fault because I liked the spelling better. Our kids will be in group therapy together discussing how we ruined their names.
eta. I really love the name Lucille though.

I think it's beautiful (but also think Lucy on it's own would be beautiful too). Do what you like, no matter the name people will mispronounce it!!

Re: well, alright, u asked....and our potentially final name for new baby is...
My sister's name is Lucia (pronounced Lu-chee-ah) in Italian, but her first grade teacher happened to say "lu-sha" and was corrected many times
Then she became Lucy (and sometimes still uses lucia.)
You can imagine my issues with my Luciano
Follow your heart. name your child what you LOVE and others will get used to it, pronounce it how you would like, etc.
Hayden also sounds adorable with Hannah! very different and so cute !

Just thought of this (and I don't think anyone else posted it):
If you go with it, and DD has problems when she's older (or you can use it to explain it too), you can say "Lucia, like the Island (St. Lucia is spelled the same way, right?)"

Lucia is a beautiful name.
For adults, just say "As in St. Lucia" THat's how the island's name is pronounced!
