Well...we went to the new ped!!! (LONG)

SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!

Anyone out there who isnt happy with their ped, please switch!!!!!!!! I suffered with the old ped for so long thinking this was the way things were done. I finally realized at our last appointment that this man was doing nothing for my daughter or myself besides giving vaccinations and looking in her ears. So as many of you know, I decided to switch.

The woman who was MY ped started taking our insurance. I jumped on it! She was always so sweet, so gentle. I prayed she was still the same.

So I brought Megan to her on Tuesday for the first time. Megan kept playing with her left ear and I though she had her first ear infection. So to be safe, I brought her on Tuesday. I walked into a huge waiting room (you couldnt even bring a stroller into the old one because it was so tiny.) Went to the billing dept., paid my copay before hand and waited. Was called in about 15 minutes (thats nothing compared to the other place!) and went in. The nurse was so gentle, so sweet with Megan. Then the Dr. came in. Right away I knew she hadnt changed much at all. She was WONDERFUL!!!! And although Megan cried when she was examined, I was so much more calm with this doctor. She remembered me as well as my brother and sister. She even remembered that I had suffered from headaches as a child..to me that is amazing with the amount of children she has seen over the years.

She welcomed us..said she was glad I brought my daughter to her. Megan was clear of everything. No ear infection, no sore throat, NOTHING!

I walked out of there smiling and content...something I NEVER felt at the other place!

I just wanted to share my story in case any of you are nervous about switching peds of you're thinking about it. I am so happy that I will be able to bring her somewhere comfortable now and I know shes in good hands! Eat that Dr. R!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is GREAT! Reading your post made me think about my Ped's office. It is a practice of about 5 Drs, and they pretty much do the same thing.....shots, check ears, and such. There is one Dr there who is very thorough. My BIGGEST issue with this office is the Nurse. Whenever she gives DS his shots (she's done it 2x) he SCREAMS, b/c she just sticks the needle in and pushes the stuff in. However, when other nurses do it they inject him slower and he doesn't cry. I am thinking of changing Drs for this reason.
