Were you disappointed when you found out the sex?
My friend had her baby in february and she really wanted a girl. When she delivered she said "well its a boy, hubby got his wish" and although I know she loves her son very much when we talk she jokingly says I got her girl, or I am so lucky I am having a girl etc. I already know my MIL has similar issues so it made me curious... Was anyone disappointed when they found out the sex of their baby?

I know someone that was . She already had 2 boys and really wanted a girl . well she had a 3rd boy . She admits she is jealous of those that have girls but she loves her 3 boys very much.

I was tickled pink..literally because I already had a boy and wanted a girl ( got my wish). But I knew a women who had 2 boys and wanted a girl..third was a boy also & sad to say she ended up a tad looney afterwards, institutionalized and all. The poor child is practically ignored. AND SHE IS A REGISTERED NURSE !! Think she would know better.

OMG its not that deep. Wow! I would never have guessed that someone would react like that.

i have to say i was pretty disappointed, and kinda still am, but getting over it....they say it all goes away after you have the baby and realize how much in love you are, no matter what sex it is..

Re: Were you disappointed when you found out the sex?
I wasn't disappointed with either PG and they're both boys, but my SIL was and probably still is. She was 29 weeks PG when we told my DH's family I was PG. (I was 17 weeks at the time). She found out she was having a boy and was not happy. She told me that if I find out I'm having a girl will I trade with her. I know she obviously was kidding but at the same time she was very serious. I think she still wishes he was a girl by the way she treats him and dresses him. Poor kid!

Re: Were you disappointed when you found out the sex?
I wouldn't say I was disappointed- but I was SO sure I was carrying a boy (I had all the wive's tale signs and just "felt" boy) that I was literally SHOCKED when the sono revealed "girl". Now- I'm overjoyed and just love imagining all the adorable things I can dress her in.
I think my SIL was the same way recently. They didn't find out what they were having. She said throughout her pg she wanted a girl, we ALL just felt she was carrying a girl. You guessed it- out popped baby Jake! The whole first day she kept saying, "I can't believe he's a boy." Now, she's just in love with that little baby.

Re: Were you disappointed when you found out the sex?
I wanted a boy when I was pg with Jules, but when I found out it was a girl, I was thrilled anyway. Brian really wanted a girl...
When I found out now, I was really indifferent. I was more relieved though bc I know DH really wanted a son at some point, and if we don't have a third, I feel like he has his little girl and his little boy...

Re: Were you disappointed when you found out the sex?
I was a teeny teeny bit dissapointed, but I think only because my sister had the first grandchild (a boy) and I wanted a girl just to be different...to have the first baby girl in the family. But now that I think about it, its much better that I have a boy first...I'm so happy DH is happy (I think he wanted a boy first) and when we have more kids it will be nice if we have girls, so they have an older bro. And I can use all my sisters baby clothes if I need it!

Re: Were you disappointed when you found out the sex?
No. I've always said I wanted girls, but I honestly didn't care what this baby was. I was thinking this baby was a boy, just because I was drawn to boy bedding, clothes, etc. before we found out, but I wasn't *hoping* t was a boy or girl. But when we found out, I was ecstatic it was a girl, we truly didn't care what we were having, just thrilled that she was healthy.
What's weird is I always thought DH would want a boy since he's such a jock, etc... but he is on cloud 9 about having a girl, he melts every time he talks about having a daughter.

Re: Were you disappointed when you found out the sex?
I wanted a girl just because my entire family is all boys but I'm not disappointed at all. I like that I am having a son first and yes of course I would like to have a girl next, but if I don't it won't be the end of the world.

Re: Were you disappointed when you found out the sex?
I know that we would of been disappointed to find out that this baby was a girl...after 5 girls we really wanted a boy...and this is the last little one. But I know I would of gotten over it once she was born though.

Re: Were you disappointed when you found out the sex?
i actually don't know the sex yet, but i am somehow convinced that i am having a boy. DH thinks that i unconsciously want a boy, even though consciously i keep thinking/saying that i would be happy with either.
i think finding out the sex is going to be good for me so i can get used to the idea of having whatever sex it is, since i've been so boy-focused...

Re: Were you disappointed when you found out the sex?
I wouldn't say I was disappointed, but I always wanted a girl. Now that I have him I can't imagine a girl, I love him so much. I would be ecstatic if I had a little girl one day, but if I don't, that will be fine, too. I'll just consider it meant to be for me to have all boys!

Re: Were you disappointed when you found out the sex?
Not at all. We both wanted a baby so badly, we didn't care if it was a boy or a girl. I am happy we are having a boy first, though.

Absolutely not! We are absolutely thrilled to have a baby boy on the way and would have been just as happy if it was a girl. But of course now that its a boy, we can't imagine it being any other way

Re: Were you disappointed when you found out the sex?
When I found out I was shocked because I swore I was having a girl. I don't think I was disappointed. I've always wanted a boy~ask any of my friends and they'll tell you I've wanted a boy from day 1.

Re: Were you disappointed when you found out the sex?
I really wanted another girl. DH has no girls in his family and its just me and my brother. I had a sister who died from SIDS, and always felt that I missed out on the sisterly bond, and thought it would be great to have two girls very close in age.
Of course, I am happy to have a boy though.

Re: Were you disappointed when you found out the sex?
All thru my pregnancy, all I wanted was a girl... I kept thinking -what if I had a boy?
Well, when he was born and they said - its a boy - I was sooo happy. I LOVE him sooo much, I can't imagine not having him and having a girl instead... It never dawned on me to be disappointed!!!
now I'm hoping when I'm pregnant again, we have a boy - isnt that crazy????

Re: Were you disappointed when you found out the sex?
No-initially I thought I wanted a girl but as I got closer to finding out I was so excited to find out that I didn't care whether they said boy or girl. Turns out we are having a girl and are thrilled, but it think we would have been just as thrilled had they said boy.
