Re: west elm?
We have one table from West Elm. You can look at it and it will have marks on it. It got marks on it before we had kids. I took a black magic marker and touched up the spots. At this point more of it is "marker" cover up than the original finish. Honestly I think it is not great quality and for the price they charged for it I was really astonished. Maybe the one I got was not painted well, but I would not go there for forever furniture.
I will say I do LOVE their pillows and pillow covers. I feel that is well worth their prices.

Re: west elm?
From my personal experience, I will only stick to accessories. If you buy a table, shake it. We had a bistro dining table with two bar stools and you could not put liquid on the table. It was not stable and spilled any liquids out of the glass. The same applied to other end tables, coffee tables. There are of course exceptions to the rule but I will be taking my money elsewhere for furniture.

Re: west elm?
We have a headboard and bed frame. We just got the headboard, but have had the frame for a few years and the legs are not holding up well. I'm glad that it is a low bed, so the bed is still stable.
I do love their quilts though. My kids steal ours all the time.
