Re: Westchester and the Bronx
I'm in Bronxville PO (yonkers) and it's great. I can walk to Bronxville village and it's near many major highways and Metro north is about 30 mins to grand central. Yonkers is really mixed. Some areas are beautiful and others I wouldn't go near but anything in Bronxville PO is def good. Other good areas as many others said are Fleetwood, Scarsdale, Tuckahoe, Eastchester, Larchmont, White Plains, etc. FM with any questions.

Re: Westchester and the Bronx
I live in Throggs Neck, have family in Country Club (DH grew up there)
As for areas in Bx id say Throggs Neck Country Club Riverdale
We actually just bought a house in CT and are moving out of our Apt -- our landlord is downsizing and moving into OUR 1 bedroom apt to rent out his 3 bedroom apt! If you want info let me know! In throggs neck, bus stop in literally 1 house away. Short bus ride to 6 train.

Re: Westchester and the Bronx
There are a bunch of nice areas in the bronx - lived there and worked there for 10 years - riverdale and woodlawn are very nice and convenient to public transportation. woodlawn is really small, but a huge Irish section of the bronx with a really close knit community and fun bars. close to the subway and metronorth.
Riverdale is full of nice apartment buildings and is very nice area.
Yonkers is nice - lived there too. It is very big, so depending on which section you live in, it can be really nice, like houses worth millions of dollars, or really, really bad and then the in between. Bronxville is very nice and close to metronorth - there are apartment buildings but not sure how much they are charging.
