wet basement help
what are my options for dealing with occasional (every 5-7 years) basement flooding due to a high water table after heavy rains?
we have a sump pump, which helps IF the power is working (didn't this past spring when those storms pounded us) but still doesn't completely dry it out. It took weeks to get it bone dry with the sump pump & the dehumidifier after we moved here in march. it seems to come right up from the floor.
anybody have any success fixing this kind of a problem well enough to finish it?

Re: wet basement help
We have a french drain with pump which will have the same problem as yours with no electric. We did have one company come to our house and they dig around the outside of your house and put a membrane down but there is still no guarantee they are going to find where the leak is.
My husband just dryloked our basement and it is the warmest and dryest place in our house.
