We've joined the house hunt
We have been living in Riverhead for the past 5 years. Emma will be starting school in September. She will NOT be attending Riverhead schools. I refuse. I am trying to find something big enough for the 5 of us in Laurel, Mattituck, New Suffolk or Cutchogue so she can be in the Mattituck school district but it seems nearly impossible to find something fairly reasonable. I hate house hunting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Well I hate packing and moving more)

We have a max of about $600,000.
Our max is about half that.
And we're finding plenty of places under 400k that need some TLC but look decent in good areas.
Don't worry, it will be ok.

Wow! I love this one. The built-in book shelves are gorgeous. Loads of character and a great price.

Re: We've joined the house hunt
Thanks, Ive seen both of those. I spent about 5 hours last night looking. The older colonial is on a fairly busy road. With 3 kids Im looking for a side street.

Re: We've joined the house hunt
The woman that sits next to me at work and her husband just bought a house in Mattituck, for under $450k that is in move in condition, but her husband who is a contractor is redoing the bathrooms and the kitchen....
The first one you posted, is really nice from the Pictures, and it really has charm. Love all the mouldings and the detail work. Scott

Re: We've joined the house hunt
karen there are a bunch of others on MLSLI, even one newer victorian on a side street for 575. I'm sure you'll find something, your price range seems great for the area.
