What age did you first bring DC to the dentist ??

At my DS's 3year visit, the ped reccomended his first dental visit, which I was planning on doing anyway...My dental insurance ( if thats what you want to call it, more of a discount program thing ) will only allow us to have one dentist per family- In other words, no pediatric dentist, so my DS will have to go to our family dentist...How old was your DC and how did they do in the chair ??? Thanks !!!

DD went at 18 months and hated it to be honest. It was quick though. They just counted her teeth and cleaned them. It took all of 5 minutes.

I work for a dentist so DD has sat in the chair and had her teeth examed and counted a few times already (she is 2.5) she hasnt had them cleaned yet - by the time she is 3 she will though,

a pediatric dentist isnt always necessary as long as your family dentist has experience seeing children youll be fine,Chat Icon

My son was 3 for his first appt. I have a dental plan (not insurance, but a discount plan) and I was able to chose a different dentist for each family member if I wanted, as long as they were in the plan. So DS saw a pediatric dentist.

first appointment at 2, next will be at 3. DD has been very difficult with tooth brushing (better now) & I was really confused with decay/plaque. She was great for the first half of the appointment & awful for the second half. Oh well!
