DS is 13 months and I still haven't given the. He has 8 teeth plus his bottom molar is coming out. I think I'm just nervous.

I know the jury is still out about raisins being a chi king hazard but from a dental point of view we suggest limiting raisins in a child's diet. Raisins are very similar to gummy bears and other candies like that. They are loaded with sugar and the consistency allows them to get down into the groves of baby teeth and can quickly cause decay if they are eaten frequently. Always brush your little ones teeth as quickly as you can after a raisin snack.

Actually there are recent studies that show that raisins may prevent cavities. There are many articles about it on the internet. Here is one:

Was going to come on post this question today too.

DD is 13 months and had craisins for the first time this weekend..she loved them and was fine chewing them..after I gave them, I wondered if it was too early..but since she did okay, I think I'll try them every once in a while.

My DD is a little over 2 1/2 and I still won't give them to her. They are can be so dry and hard sometimes I am afraid that if she doesn't chew them enough they will get stuck in her throat. For now, I skip them.
