What age did you pierce your babies ears?

We did not do it yet, but I am thinking about it at her next visit which will be here 12mth check up..
ALso those who had them pierced at the doctor what does he do?? Do we have to supply the earings???
SO scared and I am not sure if we should wait?? I had mine done in 2nd grade.. lol

I don't plan on having Molly's ears peireced until grade school. Personally, I prefer not to see baby girls with their ears pierced.

We didn't do Sarah's, I'm waiting for her 1st communion. But I know that at our doctor's office they supply the earrings, and they have 2 people come in and do both ears at the same time.

Ok so I think I too am going to wait until her communion..
She received earings at her christening but hopefully she can wear them when she is a little older..

DD's ears were pierced as soon as the Dr. gave the ok and she was 4 months old I think it is just a personal preference.

I would get them done asap!

I took Julia to the jewelry store by me and they did a great job!

She was 3 months old when I got them done, she cried for a few seconds that was it.

ETA: Its better to get them done while they are small, they dont know where there ears are yet, and they wont play with them......

My aunt got my cousins done for her communion and she ended up touching them and got infected and had to take them out, then get them re-pierced it was so annoying!

I got Molly's pierced at 6 months at her ped's office. the ped said they rec'd you wait till 6 months old.

I really love the look and want to do it - however I don't see myself actually sitting with her through that pain so we will probably wait until she is older and let her choose.

4 mos(her ped did it) and I think it looks adorable. People come up to me all of the time and compliment her. IMO her vaccinations were much more painful. Our office supplied us with earrings.

I got them done at her 4month visit. O personally believe the early the better. They have no clue they are there so they won'tplay with them and get infected.

I am thinking about this too. DD is almost 8 mths. My drs office said that if I wait much longer, she will realize they are there and touch them a lot. I kind of wish I would have done it already but DH is being a pain about it LOL.

our ped just told us to do t at 5 mos - he also (w/ the door closed) told us to go to the mall and do it - they do it at the office too but he said its just as safe, sterile and good to do it somewhere else - plus he told us its cheaper and they have more of a selection! he also added he had taken all his kids to the mall when they were younger vs. getting it done there!
