What age for CIO?
How young is too young? Anyone know what age is recommended to start? All of a sudden, at 3 months, DD has figured out that we come running when she cries so she won't go right to sleep anymore, which she used to be great at. Any thoughts?

The recommended age is 6months. IMO, 3 months is too young to be manipulative.

Re: What age for CIO?
I think everyone is going to have a different opinion on this one.
You have to go with your gut. Like your daughter mine was very aware by 3 months that we would come running if she cried. We tried CIO around 14 weeks and in less than 3 nights she caught on and has been a fabulous sleeper ever since.
Go with your gut. No one knows what will work for you or your child but you.

5+months
Agree- that was when we started doing it for naps. But it also depends on the child- our DD was very indepedent- doesn't like being rocked to sleep, likes to hold her own bottle(now at 6 months)- the only sleep method that DID work for her was CIO. I tried many other methods before doing it, believe me.
I would read the "No-Cry Sleep Solution" - she has some great methods for younger babies.
