What are my options?....stray kittens **Updated below** NOW with Pics :)

A stray cat has given birth to kittens under our shed.

We need to get rid of them, what can I do?

Do you know how old they are? I know they need to stay with their mother until they are at least old enough to eat on their own.

Is the mom feral?

I know that kittens are always in high demand when it comes to adopting, so you might have a decent chance of getting them into a shelter or rescue- but it's hard at this time of year regardless..

I know a lot of ladies on here work with rescue orgs and shelters... they would probably know better than I would...

where do you live? you should call valley stream cat rescue. they will give you the best advice.

like the pp said, do not take them away from the mother. they will not survive if they are taken away too soon.

We have a feeling that they are not that old. I really don't know, but we are guessing days old.

All, I know is that I have not seen the mother at all. I am so afraid that she left them

And we can't have them in the yard, cause my 95 lb Golden, thinks they are play toys

After looking at pics online, I think they might be a little older...but I still don't think the mother is around....does anyone have any advice?????

Hmmm this is tricky. I wonder if the mother left?

Either way I'd call a rescue organization for advice... they would know best what to do.

They have a voicemail box and it will probably say they aren't taking anymore cats at this time- but maybe if you leave a message explaining the situation and just asking for advice, someone will call you back.

When I adopted my kitty, the woman I spoke to there was VERY knowledgeable about cats. Maybe they can help.

I'm curious too..keep us posted! I would call your vet too...they might give you an option. How about a bidawee? I feel there has to be someone who takes cats and at least nueters them???

Well, we captured them, and brought them to our vets office (it is around the corner literally), the really wouldn't do anything for us, but did say one of them looked very weak and needed to eat. They gave us some food and a carrier to keep them in. Also told us a couple of other things to do, which makes me second guess bring out dog there, but that is another story.

They told us to try and bring them to Selden Emergency Hospital, but said not to tell them that that is what they said, so we get there, tell them that and they told us that they can not take them in and told us to basically put them back where we found them

The vet and the hospital gave us a list of places to call, while starting to call them, my DH notices that one of the places on the list is someone he knows and forgot that she rescues kittens/cats. So he gave her a call.
Long story short, I dropped them off to her the following morning and we will her from her how they are doing

I figured I would give you guys and update and if I upload pictures today, I will post some pictures of them

Oh I'm glad someone took them.
I am SURE they will get adopted... baby kittens are always in demand.

It was so good of you to go the extra mile to help them!

They look about 8 weeks old. You would have to look at their teeth to know for sure.
