What are signs that a child is not tolerating soy milk?

Colin has a milk allergy.

He gets soy yogurt, and soy cheese. No issues.

I am trying to slowly transition him to soy milk b/c we are going to FL in a few weeks and I don't want to be pumping there (happy to nurse a.m. & p.m. but ready to start with milk bottles when I'm at work after he's a year).

I normally don't give bottles to him when I'm home (I nurse) but I gave him 2oz soy/2oz BM Sunday night. Seemed fine aside from a little mucusy spit up half hour later (but he is teething). No bad diapers.

Last night I did the same with dinner and he spit up a little this morning - nothing last night, only this morning after I nursed. So, I'm assuming that has nothing to do with the soy bottle??

I just don't want to up it before he's ready.

DS has a severe soy allergy. The only way I know if something with soy in it is bothering him is that he has a lot of poopy diapers during a 24 hour period. And he has very bad gas that usually affects his sleep at night...

Lots of diarrhea and irritability. Also, vomitting and skin reactions.

Can it constipate them? He hasn't pooped yet today. He had 3 bottles today and each had about 1oz soy and 5oz BM
