What are some of your favorite party appetizers?
And drinks?
My sister and I are hosting NYE at her apartment in the city and we are trying to plan an easy appetizer and cocktail menu. We'll have the staples - wine, beer, champagne and liquor, but we want some fun "winter" or "new years" or "Holiday" type cocktails. I found a few that Sandra Lee has made but we want more. We want to make a sheet with recipes for people to make their own. Also we want to know what are some of your favorite appetizers? We want to make stuff that people can eat that's not messy! Here is what I'm thinking so far:
Veggie platter & dip
Cheese platter
chicken & veggie skewers
hot spinach and artichoke dip
bacon wrapped dates
pigs in a blanket
What else?

Those premade mini quiches.
Also the phyllo dough pastries with spinach, potato, all sorts of stuff inside.
Both found in the frozen food aisle in Costco!

baby hot dogs - I could eat 40 in one sitting.
I also love pizza rolls - Totinos. My FAVE. OMG - those things are like crack.

This is my app menu for Christmas Eve:
Cheese, Sausage and Fruit platter (bleu Stilton, Camembert, Wisconsin Cheddar, PepperJack, Soppressata, Pepperoni, Dried Salami, Grapes, Apple slices and melon balls drizzled w/ balsamic honey glaze) served with Crackers and Flatbreads
Clam dip
Pizza Roll ups
Crudite with Spinach Dip (Carrots, Broccoli, Celery, Cauliflower and Snap Peas)
Stromboli
Stuffed Mushrooms
Crab Quiche
Shrimp Scampi (or Roasted Shrimp Cocktail)
Lollipop Lamb Chops
I'd pick your favorite martini and give it a holiday name for the 'signature drink'.. like you can call a Ruby Sapphire Martini
a 2010 Scarlet Blitz or something.

This is going to sound nasty- but its the yummiest appetizer in the history of the world- I make it every party and people go nuts for it!
you need:
mini ryes
mayo
grated cheese
finely chopped onion
toast the rye bread peices, mix all other ingredients together and then put a small amount- about a teaspoon on each rye and toast again
soooo good!

cold grilled asparagus
my sister made a chicken satay app with some kind of peanut sauce...oh that was good but a little sloppy.

7 layer mexican dip
salami bread (stromboli)
pizzas..a few with differemt topings
brushetta..or crostini with different toppings--olive spead, white beans etc

yes, i guess that would help  sorry!
about 1 cup mayo, 3 tablespoons grated cheese (powdery kind is better in this recipe) and 1/2 a small onion
when you mix it- it should be kind of grainy- if its not add more grated cheese- you can never have enough cheese

I had this at a party last weekend.....when they shared the ingreedients I was hesitant but I tried it and it was really good.

I love dip!!!
My favorite to make though is a crab dip.
It's so easy!!!
1 8oz pkg of cream cheese, softened
1Tbls of milk
1Tsp of Worcestershire sauce
1 7oz can of crab meat, drained
2 Tbls onion powder
Mix together and place in 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. It can be served hot or cold and with a variety of crackers.
