What are some of your must-have's in your master bath?

We're going to renovate our master bathroom and got an estimate from a guy this morning. Now we just have to work on getting ideas and picking out what we want and it's harder than I thought!

We really just want everything to be more modern (currently have tiles with fish on the walls from the previous owners lol). But the contractor mentioned things like heating the floor that I didn't think of.

So what do you love in your master bathroom?

I was going to say heated floor. We don't have it, I wish we did.

MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST have heated floor.

We have double sinks and I'm glad we do - we brush our teeth together at night.

If we didn't it wouldn't be a big deal.

We also have a jetted tub - could totally live without.

Oh - in our shower we have a showerhead AND a handheld, I love the handheld - makes cleaning the shower so much easier.

So the two things I'd want for sure:

heated floor

handheld shower

Def double sinks with space to put your stuff on when using it, good size shower, linen closet and good lighting.

we just did our master as part of a larger remodel.

definately the heated floor, it is really sweet.

larger shower with a nice sized showre head. we have a handheld, its good for cleaning, we also have body sprays, these are cool, but maybe not a must have.

we have a large soaker tub. its really nice, we've only used it a few times in the 6 months we've had the thing done

Double sinks are nice, if you have room, if you don't, make sure you at least have enough storeage space and counter space.

a linen closet

We just expanded and renovated our master bath.
Things that we considered must haves were
Radiant flooring
Double sinks
Shower with bench, shower head and handheld
Large tub with heated back, jets
Handheld for the tub, makes it really easy to clean the tub
Good lighting was very important so we have sconces and overhead lights that are on several different switches/ dimmers
The quietest exhaust fan we could find.
Good storage
We added a window for more natural light and DH loves his opening skylight in the bathroom so we replaced that as well.

Things we saved money on because we didn't see the value or importance to us
Our shower door is not completely frameless, it was almost $2000 more to be frameless and I didn't think it would make my showers anymore enjoyable.
I sacrificed some of my closet to make the bathroom accommodate everything we wanted, I thought I was going to regret it but the new closet has been great, it forces me to be more organized.
We were going to add speakers or a tv but decided we can watch tv or listen to music on our iPads instead.

I love our bathroom... we have heated floors, double sink, Jacuzzi tub, our shower has the shower head, a spray head & a body wash , there is also a seat in the shower with a steamer.

One thing I will never live without is a nice bathroom!!!

Have fun with the renovations!

Our favorite features are:

1) the steam shower
2) chromotherapy in the bathtub
3) tv behind two way mirror

This bath has that and more at this link:
