But in all seriousness, I am 5'7" - not too tall, not too short. But I have a long torso and short legs, so I have to get every single pair of pants I ever buy hemmed

I'm 5'2" with long legs and a shrunken torso
advantages:
*I can take out the knees of would-be attackers
*I can fit through the cart door at Target (aka the midget door)
*tankinis show no skin!
*I can wear 4" heels and still be shorter than my man
disadvantages:
*can't ever reach anything on the top shelf
*have to stand on my toes to kiss Rich
*petite pants are too short, average are too long. I alter everything.
*Last person on the chorus line EVERY TIME!!!

Disadvantage- Finding pants that are just the right length; my boobs look 10x bigger than they really are.
Advantage- I can wear heels and be the same height as everyone... and I LOVE wearing heels!!

It was more of an issue when I was younger. I was always the tallest in my class.
It was the after college bar scene that was an issue as well. All of my friends were 5 ft tall and petite cute. I was tall and fat. I stuck out like a sore thumb and was very self conscious about it. However, nobody could ever guess how heavy I really was because of my height.
Now I like it. I can see over people. I am not too tall that I cant find clothing that is long enough or that is too short.

I'm rather short, barely 5' so lets see:
disadvantages:
can't see what's going on in a crowd (concerts, weddings, church, etc) unless I have an uptown seat.
Can't reach things that are high up on shelves, can't reach the top cabinets in my kitchen.
Have trouble finding pants that don't have to go to the taylor to be shortened, even petite lenght
advantages:
I can get through a crowd pretty easily
If I don't want to be noticed it's not hard because I'm usually shorter than everyone else in the room and can kind of stay out of sight.
can't think of anything else right now

I'm 5'8 so pants are never a problem when it come to length. Shirts on the other hand are always short on me because I have a long torso. It's very frustrating. I wish more places made tall shirts for women.

Same for me - although I will add that it's hard to find pants that fit right sometimes.
Also, with shirts, they are usually too short in the torso and the sleeves never fit quite right either. They always end up being a funky length - just short enough to not be considered 3/4 length and not long enough to actually fit properly.
Another advantage is that I don't blend in easily and am often remembered as "the really tall chick".
I am a teacher (middle school) and I think being as tall as I am works to my advantage with this age group.

Advantages:
*People notice me.
*People remember me.
*People often see me as a leader.
*I can put on weight and nobody would know.
*I get compliments and usually my height is referenced in the compliment, so men & women seem to see it as a positive "asset".
Disadvantages:
*the large feet that go with being tall (Size 12)
*finding clothes (not so much anymore. My boobs seem to cause more problems than my height.)
*I don't blend into a crowd. (Not fun when you're having a bad hair day or have a major zit on your forehead.)
*Most vehicles weren't made with my legs in mind.

Disadvantages: I can't reach anything. Clothing is always too long on me. I can't wear the really long shirts and sweaters that are in right now, because they go past my knees.
Advantages: I can fit into tight spaces, lol. DH laughs at how quickly I can move through a crowd, because I just duck under people.

Adv- rarely, ever have to get clothes altered for my height and weight
Dis- I've been this height pretty much since middle school so I was towering over classmates before they really started growing. None now.

Advantages
If I gain weight, you don't notice it as much..
Disadvantages
when I wear heels, I become very tall and I love high heels..I also can get taller than dh..I hate that!

Advantages, I can fit into small places, I look young, I never had a problem being taller then any guy.
Disadvantages, Hard to find clothes, (Capris are pants on me).Can't see over any ones heads, Five pounds can seem like 15lbs on me. Can't reach anything on shevles.

Same for me!! I am actually really like 5'8 1/2 inches.......talls are too tall in pants usually for me. I have found certain brands of pants that the averages are sort of longer and they are just right!
But shirts are ALWAYS an issue..............especially button down blouses for work
ETA.....that it is also a disadvantage because DH isn't much taller then me, so heels are always an issue.

I'm 5'4", which I think is average. I do have to buy petite pants, but I love being my height. Guys are always taller than me (I never wanted to date anyone my height or near my height), DH's arm fits perfectly resting around my shoulders, tankinis don't show that much skin, I can wear heels and not worry about being near DH's height...
Not many disadvantages! Other than petite pants being hard to find.
