What are the "laws" in changing a babies diaper?
My friend was wondering...
Does it have to be in a restroom? What if the place you are in does not have a restroom? (a store such as Footlocker, Bath & Body Works)
TIA

I always do it in the car, dd has a hatred for public changing tables for some reason. If I can't get to the car I do it in her stroller in a corner.

Re: What are the "laws" in changing a babies diaper?
I change DD anywhere I can find a surface while being respectful of the people around me. If I can, I do it in the stroller or the car.
At a Footlocker I would use a bench and put my diaper pad down.
I have used the counter at a store in Soho (with the sales girl's permission) and chairs in dressing rooms. My mom has even changed her on a bench in the middle of NYC.

I don't think I could ever change my baby, wet OR dirty, out in a public place. If I needed to change one of them and the place had no equipped restroom, I would either take them to my car or use the stroller. Or just wait if we really had to

Re: What are the "laws" in changing a babies diaper?
There are no "laws" but there is common courtesy.
I would avoid public changes & prefer to go to the restroom (mainly because you could be dealing with a lot more than anticipated ). Later on when they start to twist & turn as you change them, well you're going to need to pin them down a bit or you're in for one huge disgusting mess. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do.
I've changed them on benches, on my lap (definitely not ideal). The other thing you can do when they're toddlers is change them on the toilet. Detach straps, pull diaper from the back, contents fall in the toilet & wipe them down there.

I change him in restrooms, in the stroller, in the car. Where ever I can and if it isn't to busy.

I have changed her in her stroller many times. If I were in Footlocker or Bath and Body works and in the middle of shopping I would have them hold my purchases and take her out of the store and find a corner and change her in her stroller then go back in.

The thought of using a bathroom grosses me out, so I always just change him in the stroller. I know that sounds funny!

They gross me out too! I usually change her in the car when we are out or in her stroller in the bathroom. I asolutely hate using those changing stations. We both get purelled after leaving those bathrooms!

I have changed them in restrooms, stroller, car & on my lap. And I do it as fast as possible. I hate changing them in public but, I kow it has to be done.
