What are the true expenses of owning a home?
1. Mortgage
2. Insurance
3. Taxes
4. Fuel
5. Water/Sewage
What else am I missing?

electric, replacements of major appliances and boiler/water heater/CAC etc
Also dont forget the additional mortgage insurance if you are below 20% downpayment
Oh yea, furnishing the home ...we had to buy ALOT going from a 1 bd tiny apt to a 3bd condo

- Electric
- Yard maintenance - either by hiring a landscaper or DIY (with DIY you still need the lawn mower, rake, all the other things....)
- Other outside things - hose, garbage pails
- Holiday decorations for outside (silly, I know, but it can add up)

- repairs
- remodels
- replacing appliances
- repainting
- roof
- heating/cooling system
- windows/doors
- siding
There is ALWAYS something that will break down or will need to be replaced at some point.
Like a roof will not last forever.
Having a house, you are just buying time as to what to fix/replace next.
