I picked up an inexpensive pair of black riding boots, with brown on top recently, and have been getting a ton of compliments on them.

In the late fall/winter - boots. Always. I'm a boot slut, I have like 10 pairs in various colors/styles  My feet get cold very easily so boots keep me warm and comfy all day.
In the spring/summer, flip flops or ballet flats. I have a pair of Michael Kors flats I love, and a pair of (surprisingly) adorable Dr. Scholls red ballet flats that are great.

I had a great pair of mules/clogs that I wore for a few cold weather seasons. Looking for new ones but haven't found anything yet. I like the ease of sliding my feet in on weekends, they are comfortable for running around with kids/errands, and have a heel so they look cute with jeans (instead of sneakers).
Otherwise, I wear boots.

I got Tom's ballet flats that I like as well as those smoking slipper shoes that are out now..so cute and comfortable...I also have Cole Haan flats
