What are your Top 5 MUST haves for new moms
Aside from the usual, like diapers, wipes, bottles, car seat, etc.
I had my shower this past weekend and went shopping the next day w/ my mom to buy "necessities" that we didnt' receive. I still have $150 in gift cards, which I plan to hold on to some of it for after DS is born (for formula and such).
But, are there certain things (aside from the usual) that you'd consider Must haves??
TIA!!!

Re: What are your Top 5 MUST haves for new moms
Yes, every mother must have the FP Infant toddler Rocker. Steven LOVED it and spent most of his time in it. He still loves to sit in it. Also, a gym they can play on. Even though they can only play for like 10 minutes, it's still enough time to have a cup of coffee Mylicon drops. Luckily Steven didn't need these all that much, but they DID help. all babies get gas, so you know you will need the drops at least a few times.
I can't really think of two more

Yes, definately the bumbo.
Though now Steven drops the toys then tries to reach out of the seat to grab them. He's going to fall out of it any day now

Re: What are your Top 5 MUST haves for new moms
Since he is growing at the same super speed Steve is, it will be sooner than you think. I used to be able to just sit him in it. Now I have to push his legs in (not hard of course).
I'm still convinced they were seperated at birth

Steven looks more like Josh then any of his cousins, aunts or uncles do!
with the rainforest swing, we always have to make sure his thiegh is out of the way before putting the tray down...that middle piece will get him everytime

Not sure if these are aside from the usual, but I could not live without:
1. swing (FP rainforest - plugs in so I don't go through a ton of batteries) 2. bouncy seat 3. snap & go stroller frame 4. baby einstein dvds 5. mini co-sleeper

My boobs (but only if you're breastfeeding ) Seriously it seems to answer all DD's problems.
One thing I wish I had that I didn't even think to get was the snap n go. Would have been much easier instead of lugging around the whole travel system.

Re: What are your Top 5 MUST haves for new moms
I must have her infant/toddler rocker- she will sit in that thing for an hour- enough time to shower and get ready. She hated the bouncy seat.
Love my swing- helps when she won't go down for a nap. We have the Papasan one.
play gym- she will play with that for at least a half hour- I can even run outside quick to the laundry room in the garage(five step away) and know she is safe and happy.
Click and Go- forget those heavy travel systems- a total waste of money. We got the cheaper one(not the graco) that is universal and it holds so much stuff in the bottom. We go on 5 mile walks with it and it works great. It is also a lifesaver to travel with.
Wish I got a comfy rocker/chair- the wooden one is really uncomfortable.
Almost forgot- her Snuggle Nest- bumpers that hold the baby in the bassinet with its own mattrees- forget the name but she sleeps great.

Re: What are your Top 5 MUST haves for new moms
The things I can't imagine having another without:
1) Swing 2) Miracle Blanket 3) Bumbo 4) Lights and Motion mobile (much better than those ones that match the bedding sets) 5) Activity gym (the one I have has a mobile underneath because they get tired of Tummy Time real quickly)
Here are pics of the mobile and gym we loved.
Oh and did I mention: swing, swing and swing?

Re: What are your Top 5 MUST haves for new moms
I find that what I needed when DD was first born is different now....
the bouncy seat was a life saver- she still goes into it when I need a shower. I like the bumbo tons of bibs- go through 6-8 a day and tons of burp cloths but ONLY the diaper kinds- those are the best absorbant ones.
