Re: What are your views on wine drinking?
I definetly wouldn't' drink once a week. But I did have a glass of wine on my anniversary and plan on doing so again on my birthday. I really don't miss it as much as I thought I would.

Re: What are your views on wine drinking?
Totally personal decision -
I honestly believe (with the exception of smoking) that everything they tell us NOT TO DO AT ALL is b/c they're CYA, and many people don't KNOW how to use common sense and do things in moderation -
So, rather than an ocassional drink is ok - and people using common sense and not getting plastered on a regular basis, they just say YOU CAN'T DRINK AT ALL OR A B AND C can happen .....KWIM?
I waited until about 25 weeks and then had a glass of wine here and there .......

Re: What are your views on wine drinking?
I personally havent had ANY alcohol since my BFP, and my docs clearly stated- no booze, nicotine and dope! On the other hand, a sip here and there definitely is no biggie. I lucked out with this pregnancy because my ONLY aversion is WINE!

But to me just having a little taste of booze does me no good- and is just more of a tease...so I'm just waiting it out until I can go buck wild again!
OMG, you took the words right out of my mouth! And I'm too lazy to figure out what to say, so thanks!
If it's not a whole bottle (or at least half ) then it's just not worth it!

Re: What are your views on wine drinking?
It's not worth it to me (nor am I even craving it). I pretty much stopped drinking the month before we conceived. It's been soooo long, that I feel like even a small glass would get me drunk. But I really have no desire!

I'm avoiding it.... I figure I won't enjoy it because I'd feel guilty for even having it and what's one glass doing for me anyway.

Re: What are your views on wine drinking?
I can't do it. My sister was born with a disability and my mother did all the right things; i could never forgive myself if something happened. it's just not worth it. also, there's this little part of me that knows inside it kills my mother to see or hear of someone having a drink or doing something "wrong" when she did it all right. just one of those things.

Re: What are your views on wine drinking?
I'm one of those who believes most things are ok as long as they're in moderation (cold cuts, hot dogs, caffiene), but the one thing I'm not willing to take a risk with is alcohol. During my first pregnancy, I happened to discuss the whole "occasional glass of wine" theory with my BIL, who's an MD, and his words to me were "If you happen to have a drink during an important part of the baby's development, was it worth the risk?" He's right. I want to enjoy my glass of wine and I know I wouldn't feel good sippin' on it knowing the potential consequences and if my child was born with a disability/health issue, I know I would always question whether my choice to have an occasional glass of wine influenced that.

I agree... one sip or glass is worthless to me.

Re: What are your views on wine drinking?
After the 1st trimester I had about one a week or more...I indulged a bit more during the 3rd trimester. If I began to feel the effects, I would stop. My goal wasn't to get sh*t faced...it was to relax.

Re: What are your views on wine drinking?
It's personal but to me was not worth it.
I was just reading in People mag recently that Belinda Carlisle had 1 glass of wine per day when she was PG with her son and he was born 3 weeks early and only weighed 3 lbs.

Re: What are your views on wine drinking?
From what I've been told, in your 3rd trimester a glass of red wine is actually recommended by some doctors to allow you to relax. I've had a few sips here and there but its not worth the heartburn although it tastes very good going down. And lately my husbands been saying just have a glass of wine with dinner when we go out every once in a while, but I feel funny now that I look officially preggars sitting there sipping a glass of wine. I feel like all eyes are looking at me weird.
