What birthday traditions do you have for your kids?

Would love to know what everyone does for their dc's b-day.

I don't have too many... yet... I'm working on setting up traditions, but anyway...

We talk up his birthday so much because it's smack in the middle of the holidays. We do this so that he doesn't get lost in the shuffle.

I take the day off and we spend the entire day together. Just home, nothing crazy.

We let him choose where he wants to eat - last year we went to Friendly's for dinner.

The night before his birthday we get all of his gifts together and if there is a big one we build it and put it on display with the others around it and decorate the playroom with balloons and gifts, so it's all ready for him in the morning. That's my favorite!

We have a birthday party for family and friends on the weekend.

I also bake cupcakes and I burn his birthday candle.

My g/f decorates her kids' rooms when they are sleeping with balloons. I think that's cute too!

I will be taking the day off

I will be posing him in front of a giant blown up cupcake every year

I will light is birthday candle (1-18 yrs)
