Mostly one week camps.

Day Camp -Camp Beth Shalom in Roslyn. I was the only non-Jew!! I went there for like 10 years. 
Sleep Away - Camp Bernadette in New Hampshire. I only went for 2 summers, but wish I discovered it earlier. I loved it. Heck -I wish I could go now!

The only camp I went to was in HS...it was cheerleading camp at Hofstra

I went to Ryelanders in the city. We would be bused to camp sites in Staten Island daily. Loved it there.

DH is 30 and my friend is 32... DH is OBSESSED with camp. Actually his parents were part owners of the camp for a while.. His sister and bro went there too-- SIL is 28 and BIL is 34.
A lot of his friends have married people from camp-- including my friend... I swear, it's a freakin' cult!

I went to horseback riding day camp one summer and band camp in my school district for 6 years. It was a 5-week program at the school and then one week away at the end of the summer.

Hofstra Camp for Gymnastics...Hated it
A recreation program run by my town...only liked that because my mom was the nurse
I was not a camp going type girl

I went to USDAN. Performing arts camp geek here.
Then I worked at the Smithtown YMCA for many, many summers.
Wow Rachel, I'm jealous. Two of my best friends one summer camp scholorships ther in Junior High. I got to go with them for a 1 day visit. I loved it, I wish we could have afforded it.
Ava is already very musical, so I would love to send her to a place like that if she ever wanted to go!

Yes, it most certainly is like a cult
I looked at your profile and don't recognize your DH. I am sure he has changed a little in the years since I would have seen him! I am a little older too so he might not have been there when I was there.

I went to Pierce Camp Birchmont across the lake from Bernadette. We played you girls in inter-camp competitions.

Counselor at Surprise Lake Camp

I cant wait for my kids to be old enough DH and I will work at sleep away camp
